Senior Marketing Strategist

Georgia Natural Gas (GNG), an operating division of SouthStar Energy Services LLC, markets natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial customers in Georgia on a firm and interruptible basis. The company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, serves over 550,000 residential and small commercial customers in Georgia and another 500 interruptible customers throughout the Southeast.

We have an excellent opportunity for a person who is experienced in analytical Marketing, Research and Interactive. The Marketing Strategist position is responsible for providing analytical and project support.  The job requires synthesizing and incorporating complex data from multiple sources into comprehensive knowledge, actionable insights, and business marketing recommendations and plans in the areas of niche, emerging markets and retention/WINBACK.

The Marketing Analyst position is responsible for:

  • Developing marketing plans and business cases for entry info new markets, niche areas,  niche segments, and non-core segments.
  • Utilizing, managing and providing recommendations on GNG’s marketing segmentation model and strategy.
  • Analyzing, recommending and executing marketing plans.
  • Providing assistance on corporate marketing plans and execution of strategies to maximize profitability and meet business goals.
  • Tracking, evaluating and monitoring of select marketing initiatives to achieve overall marketing, financial and business goals.
  • Return on Investment/Cost per acquisition modeling and analysis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, or Business and at least seven years applicable experience.
  • Energy Industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide marketing recommendations.
  • Proven success of organizing, interpreting, and implementing strategies and programs based on financial and marketing drivers.
  • Ability to think strategically and proactively, anticipate future marketing trends, and interpret meanings and implications.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and research principles.
  • Proven success of developing new ideas and strategies from data findings.
  • Strong Access skills.  Must be able to import data, and develop reporting package.
